Flower Explosion Box

A little fair warning; this one has a lot of pictures! I tried to keep the number of pictures down but there was a lot to this project! I made a Flower Explosion Box from my Mini Books Cricut cartridge. It took me a good couple of days to get done but I think it turned out pretty well and I think my mom will like it! I made this for my mom's birthday and I decided to make something for her because I know she appreciates all the work that goes into stuff like this and she has so many things that I like making her things with pictures of the kids, I can usually get tears from her with that kind of stuff too. Love you Mom!!!
Without further ado, here is my Flower Explosion Box!

The finished project:

The box opened:

The little Flower Explosion Box I put in the big one, but I'll go into detail on that one later:

The first layer of the big box:
Even if you're not a Twilight fan; you know you love it! ;)

The second layer of the big box:
My cute kids!

The third layer of the big box:

The bottom of the big box:

I chose the Twilight/Fairy theme because my mom loves Twilight & fairies! I admit, I also like them!

Here is the small box I put inside the big one:

Underneath the small box lid:

The key chain I put inside the small box:
I was going to make it a necklace but my mom isn't a necklace person so I decided to switch to the key chain, I think it turned out pretty cool. I'll go into more detail about how I did the key chain further down.

Here's what I used to make the key chain:

For the message in the bottle I just used a piece of brownish paper that I printed the message on and then burned the edges and ended up dipping in water to make it look like an old piece of parchment. I then put a little glitter in the bottle, of course!, then wrapped the paper around a toothpick then put it in the bottle and sealed it back up. I thought it turned out pretty cool!

How the paper originally looked versus my creation:

I added the jewels to the locket with mod podge and I added the pictures of those cute kids. :)

For fun, here are some pics of my boxes before I decorated them:

Here's what I used to make the flower I put on top of the big box:

I made the butterfly on top of the flower with my Everyday Pop-Up Cards cartridge.

There you have it! My Flower Explosion Box! Sorry for so many pictures but a lot went into making it. I hope my mother likes it! We're going to dinner with her tomorrow and I'll give her the Flower Box and the card I made her!

Thanks for at looking at my latest creation!

Princess Mobile

I made this princess mobile for Zoey's princess party this year. I used "Once Upon A Princess" for all of it. It was so fun to make! I just love princess stuff! I'm planning on hanging it in Zoey's room when I get to fixing one of the princess eyes that fell off. :p

My New Blog

I've decided to change the direction of my blog. Turns out I'm not very exciting but I do think I make some pretty cute crafts and I spend way too much time using my Cricut so why not start showing some things off? My blog will now be dedicated to all the crafty type stuff that I so enjoy making. Here is my first creation I have decided to share.

This is a birthday card I made for my mother, took me a whole day to get done!

I used the "Walk in My Garden" cartridge for the card, "Pretty Pennants" for the banner, and "Cricut Alphabet" for the letters. Everything else was just cut from paper I had, ribbon, stickers, and I added lots of glitter!

Sad Day

Yesterday was indeed a very sad day. My poor little gerbil Pepper died. I had her for quite a while, well before Bryan was even a twinkle in my eye. I'm afraid our other gerbil Ginger won't be far behind. I was petting her last night and she just laid there and barely moved. I could see she was breathing but I'm afraid she isn't for this world much longer. It was very sad and yes, I did cry for my poor, sweet little gerbils. I'll have to go find a picture of them and I'll post it tomorrow, I hope Pepper is now up in gerbil heaven and running on wheel to her heart's desire and having all the sunflower seeds she can eat! She was a great little pet and I had her for a long time and she will be missed.

What? This isn't a bathroom?

Yesterday I was told by my boss as a warning that due to fact that students have a hard time finding the bathroom in our building, the Students Services Building, some male students have taken to doing their business right outside our building! The hell!? The director of our office has actually witnessed this while looking out the window in his office. Dude, if you're gonna take a leak outside do it where people looking out their office windows won't see you! It's only common knowledge. I can't believe college students would do this...or maybe I can. In any case if you can't find the bathroom try asking somebody or go to one of the many near buy buildings that have easier to find bathrooms. It's really not that hard. People are nuts!

I'm Still Here!

So Bryan told me I need to keep my blog more updated so I thought I'd just throw something out there so people know I'm still alive. Not too much going on at the moment. I'm still keeping up more or less on my 365 Days project so that's good. I successfully finished the month of January so I thought I'd post a few of my favorites.

Sheila had her super cute little baby girl a couple Sundays ago, Lara Statter, on January 25th. I think she looks a lot like Lachlan did when he was born so we know she's gonna be super cute.

Other than that not much else has been going on but I will try and be better about keeping my blog more updated. I mean really, what else have I got to do?
